Our Artisans
The women who make Sartiyoon
Every Sartiyoon piece is made by hand by a woman in rural Sindh.
01Where they come from
Women from the villages of Sindh
Many of our artisans learned embroidery, weaving and block printing from their mothers and grandmothers. These skills were rarely treated as work, and rarely paid as work.
The Sartiyoon Sikhyaa Centre opened in February 2022. It gives them training, a place to learn together, and a direct way to reach customers.
02Our principle
Every piece has a maker. She should be recognised for it, and paid for it.
Sartiyoon is built around our artisans, not around a catalogue.
